Freestyle Course - Learn Inline Skating and Rollerblading Tricks
4 WEEK INLINE SKATING FREESTYLE COURSE,
HYDE PARK
An advanced class, requiring a solid basic technique. Focus is on
freestyle slalom and other technical moves, with the aim to build up
the participant’s technical ability and versatility, and of course to
build up a repertory of ‘exhibition moves’!

The next Freestyle course run in conjunciton with Citiskate is
currently tbd - but to celebrate the National Inline Skating Week (see UKISA website for details) we offer a Special Freestyle Package for individuals and small groups this spring:
Format: 3x1.5h lessons, time & location negotiable
Contents: Barrel Roll,
Grapevine, Basic Sliding, Introduction to Slalom, and all the little
tricks and nick-nacks you always wanted to learn!
Price: £100 for 1 person, 10% discount for group of 2, 20% for 3 people, etc, down to £50pp for groups of 6 or more.
The lesson contents above are only a suggestion - this packages is fully flexible and can be adjusted to your needs and whishes!

Format
The course is organized into 4 evenings with 2 1h sessions each. Each
session will be taught by two instructors, partly as one group, partly
split into two ability levels working on different techniques. This
also allows friends of differing ability level to sign up to the same
class.
Syllabus
Slalom:
- Introduction & Basic manoeuvres like snake, criss-cross, shift
- Straight line slalom like Nelson, back Nelson, X
- Basic rotations, in steps and heel-heel/toe-toe
Slides & T-Stops
- Drag stops like T-stops, toe/heel drags, and fakie acid slide
- Push stops like power slides & hockey stop
Barrel Roll
- Basic development and technique
- Advanced technique, development of variants
Sideways movements
- Introduction, spin stops, moon turns, independent
Requirements
The following are pre-requisites to be able to take this course
- Basic Technique (striding, solid braking, parallel/surf turns)
- Backwards skating, including basic transitions
- No heel brake required, you’re welcome to wear & use one,
although it can get in the way
- Wearing a full set of pads and a helmet is strongly recommended – you
WILL fall over!

COST
Cost for 4 week course £90 (£45 deposit)
eg. Deposit amount is £45, a further £45 is payable at the
first session. Deposits are not returned, they merely secure your place
on the course
Discounts
For groups of two or more: each applicant receives £10 off their
course fee. You pay the normal deposit and then £10 less at the
first session. This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any
other offer and applicants must apply at the same time (note that only
one card transaction will be required when subscribing as a group).

Kensington Gardens, in front of the Albert Memorial, nearest station

In case of unsuitable weather the class will take place in Old
Spitalfields Market, Brushfield Street, E1, London, England.
5 minutes walk from Liverpool Street Station British Rail or tube
(Circle/Central/Metropolitan lines) LOCATION
Decision to move the class would be made on the day, 2h before the
start of the classes. Please provide a valid email address on sign-up
