Inline Skating & Rollerblading Tricks: Acid Slide
also known as 'Outside Edge New York Stop'
Drills & Supporting Techniques
It helps if you're able to do the following:
- Lunge Turns/Stops
- Power Slides, both forwards and backwards
- New York Stop
- One foot front Criss-Cross
- Fakie Acid Slide
The Move
- put your weight on one foot, on centre edge
- cross the other foot across the front, as far as you can w/o
shifting your weight onto it
- move the crossed skate onto outside edge as far as your skates
allow
- now let the crossed skate arc around until it's perpendicular to
your direction, and in front of the rolling skate
- at the same time lower your weight as far as possible, so your
wheels can break free (starting with the heel one) and slide...
